1. Nation’s Best Recruiting Class Signs With UC Irvine

UC Irvine’s men’s soccer program unveils its list of 10 incoming Anteaters widely regarded as the top 2019 recruiting class in Division I men’s soccer.  Full Story
 

2. Four Volleyball Teams End 2018 In The Postseason

Senior outside hitter Adlee Van Winden finished with a team-high 19 kills and six digs but the Cal Poly volleyball team, playing without junior Torrey Van Winden, fell to San Diego Friday night in four hard-fought sets 3-1 (25-19, 25-18, 23-25, 25-22) in the first round of the NCAA Tournament at the Galen Center on the campus of USC, ending its record-making season. The University of Hawai’i fell to Baylor in a five-set marathon in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, while UC Irvine and UC Santa Barbara both dropped their first matches of the NIVC.  Full Story


3. Shorts II Named Candidate For Senior CLASS Award

UC Davis senior guard TJ Shorts II was chosen as one of 30 candidates for the 2018-19 Senior CLASS Award® in men’s basketball. An acronym for Celebrating Loyalty and Achievement for Staying in School ®, the Senior CLASS Award focuses on the total student-athlete and encourages students to use their platform in athletics to make a positive impact as leaders in their communities. 4. Big West Places 14 Players On United Soccer Coaches Women’s All-West Region

A total of 14 Big West student-athletes were honored on the 2018 United Soccer Coaches Women’s Division I All-West Region Team for their standout performances this season as announced, Monday.  Eight Big West programs appeared on the list including representatives from regular season and Big West Tournament champion, Long Beach State, in addition to Cal Poly, Cal State Fullerton, CSUN, UC Davis, UC Riverside, UC Santa Barbara and Hawai‘i. The West Region is comprised of programs from the Big West, West Coast and Western Athletic Conferences. Full Story


5. UCD’s Bertsch Becomes Highest Scoring Player In Aggies Men’s And Women’s Basketball History

Senior biomedical engineering major Morgan Bertsch became the all-time leading scorer in UC Davis men’s and women’s basketball history, finishing with a team-high 21 points to lead five Aggies in double figures and help pace her team to an 84-68 win over Nevada in the opener of the 2018 Lady Griz Classic on Saturday afternoon in Missoula, Mont.
