Living up to the hype as a Big West Tournament game, Long Beach State and UC Davis battled in a physical contest but senior Dana Fujikuni's second half goal was the difference as the Beach advanced to the finals with a 1-0 win.

SEMIFINAL RECAP – UC SANTA BARBARA 1, UC IRVINE 0

It took a full 90 minutes to decide the Big West Tournament semifinal match between the UC Santa Barbara Gauchos women's soccer team and the UC Irvine Anteaters at Anteater Stadium on Thursday night, but it took just 29 seconds for freshman midfielder Hannah Wendelken to give the Gauchos a lead they never looked back from as they defeated the Anteaters 1-0 to advance to the Big West Tournament final on Sunday.

HOW THESE TEAMS STACK UP
When the two squads met in the regular season in Long Beach, Calif. on Oct. 14, host Long Beach State defeated UC Santa Barbara 1-0 in front of 1,022 fans.  The Beach out-shot the Gauchos 16-10 and earned three points in league thanks to a score from Sarah Maher on an assist from Chloe Froment.  Long Beach owns a 9-2-1 advantage in head-to-head matchups with UCSB in the last 12 meetings.  The last time the Gauchos beach the Beach was in 2017 in a 3-0 shutout.
