2018-19 ESPN Men's Basketball Schedule
Big West Conference Commissioner Dennis Farrell today announced that ESPN will televise a minimum of 17 men’s basketball games across its national cable networks during the 2018-19 season.
Five regular season Big West contests will appear on ESPN2 or ESPNU, utilizing a “Wild Card” format to determine pairings three weeks prior to each game. Three ESPNU games will be played on January 31, February 21 and February 28. ESPN2 or ESPNU will air February 9 and February 16 matchups.
The Big West Tournament semifinals and championship will be available across a variety of platforms at Honda Center. The Friday, March 15 semifinals will appear on ESPN3 and ESPNU. The 6:30 p.m. (PDT) game will be shown live on ESPN3 and via tape delay at 11:00 p.m. (PDT) on ESPNU. The second semifinal will be shown live on ESPN3 and ESPNU. Championship game coverage will begin on ESPN2 at 9:00 p.m. (PDT) on Saturday, March 16.
In addition to the conference and tournament exposures, nine additional non-conference contests will be aired on an ESPN network.
Cal State Fullerton and Hawai‘i will combine to compete in three ESPN Events’ owned-and-operated eight-team tournaments to comprise the nine games. The Titans will participate in the Myrtle Beach Invitational while the Rainbow Warriors will play in both the Wooden Legacy and as hosts of the Hawaiian Airlines Diamond Head Classic. Each tournament will feature three games on either ESPN2, ESPNU or ESPN3.
All games aired on an ESPN network will also be available through the ESPN App, accessible on computers, smartphones, tablets and connected devices to fans who receive their video subscription through an affiliated provider.
The Big West’s digital ESPN3 men’s and women’s basketball package will be announced in the near future.
The 2018-19 season begins on Tuesday, November 6.
