1. CSUN’s Trejo Records A Hat Trick
Daniel Trejo recorded a hat trick, the first for the CSUN men’s soccer program in a regular season match in just under three years Sunday afternoon to lead the Matadors past Utah Valley 6-1. Full Story
2. Gauchos Score Three Unanswered To Complete Cal Comeback
In their first matchup since 2005, the UC Santa Barbara Gauchos women’s soccer team (5-1-0) defeated the No. 22 California Golden Bears (3-2-0) in come-from-behind fashion thanks to a strong second half and a golden goal in overtime from senior midfielder Madeline Gibson. Full Story
3. Multiple Big West Players Earn National Honors
A day after opening the 2018 season with Big West Player of the Week accolades, UC Riverside’s Kaiulani Ahuna was named Sports Imports/AVCA National Player of the Week after a monstrous performance at the Fullerton-UCR Classic which included breaking a pair of program records. Full Story
Carter Clemmensen and Wallis Lapsley joined the men’s soccer national honor roll thanks to solid performances on the season’s opening weekend. Full Story
4. UCI Men’s Volleyball Embarks On Asian Tour
The UC Irvine men’s volleyball team will take part in a three-country Asian tour Aug. 29-Sept. 17. UC Irvine has participated in several international tournaments, but this will be the first preseason trip to Asia and the longest international trip in the program’s history. 5. UC Riverside Alum Named To USMNT
UC Riverside alum Aaron Long was named to the United States Men’s National Soccer Team for a kick off series Sept. 7 vs Brazil and Sept. 11 vs Mexico. He becomes the first Highlander to ever be selected to the US Men’s National Team.
