➜ UC Irvine senior Ryan Fitzpatrick secured his first career Big West Baseball Field Player of the Week honor after helping the team to a 3-1 record, including a conference series victory over UC Santa Barbara.

➜ The first baseman batted .417 (5-for-12) over the four games, while walking six times and reaching base via a hit-by-pitch for a .650 on-base percentage.

➜ Three of Fitzpatrick’s five hits went for extra bases as he finished the week with a 1.083 slugging percentage.

➜ Fitzpatrick extended his consecutive games streak with a homer to three straight with a bomb against San Diego State and another versus UCSB in game one of the Big West series.  He became the first Anteater since the program’s Division I rebirth in 2002 to accomplish that feat.

➜ He scored four runs and had nine RBIs, including multiple RBIs in three of the four games.

➜ Fitzpatrick went 1-for-3 with two runs scored and three RBIs in a 10-2 win against San Diego State.  He finished 2-for-3 with four RBIs and a pair of walks in Friday’s 10-2 win over UCSB.  In Sunday’s 11-1 victory to clinch the series against the Gauchos, Fitzpatrick went 2-for-5 with a triple and two RBIs.

➜ UC Irvine freshman Trenton Denholm won a pair of starts to collect his first career Big West Baseball Pitcher of the Week award.

➜ In addition to going 2-0, the right-hander posted a 0.82 ERA with just one run allowed in 11.0 innings of work.  He gave up just four hits and one walk while striking out six.

➜ Denholm tossed four shutout innings in a 10-2 victory over San Diego State on Tuesday.  He limited the Aztecs to three hits and struck out two.

➜ Getting the starting nod on Sunday in the rubber game of the Big West series with UC Santa Barbara, Denholm had a no-hitter that lasted through six innings.  He hit a batter and allowed his only hit – a single into right field – to start out the seventh.  Denholm wiggled out of the inning with minimal damage, and completed his seven innings of work with one hit and one run allowed.

➜ Denholm walked just one and fanned four Gauchos in the 11-1 triumph.
