No. 1 UCD, No. 5 CSUN Advance To Saturday's Championship Game


Big West Women's Basketball Tournament Central

Top-seeded UC Davis grabbed a 49-46 victory in a tightly-contested semfinal showdown with No. 6 UC Riverside and No. 5 knocked off No. 2 Cal Poly, 73-50, to advance to the championship game of the 2018 Big West Conference Women's Basketball Tournament.  The Aggies and Matadors are slated to tip off Saturday, March 10 at 4:00 p.m. at Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif.

Down by five with 2:34 remaining in Friday's Big West Tournament semifinal, UC Davis showed everyone inside the Honda Center why they are the regular season champions by making clutch defensive stops, in addition ending the game on a 9-1 run, to defeat the UC Riverside Highlanders, 49-46.  With that win, UC Davis improves to 25-5, and will compete for a Big West Conference Tournament title, and automatic berth in the NCAA Tournament, on Saturday against the winner of the league's other semifinal between Cal Poly and CSUN.

Tessa Boagni scored 19 points and grabbed 11 rebounds led CSUN to a 73-50 victory over Cal Poly in the semifinals of the Big West Conference Women's Basketball Tournament presented by Memorial Care Friday at the Honda Center.
