Kreiser Helps UC Santa Barbara To Winning Record At Winter Invite


UC Santa Barbara junior Sarah Kreiser (Santa Margarita, Calif./Trabuco Hills HS) led her team offensively, scoring in all five tournament games to garner Big West Women’s Water Polo Player of the Week honors.

The Gauchos went 3-2 at their own UCSB Winter Invite, posting victories over Fresno Pacific (21-0), Cal Baptist (8-3) and Fresno State (12-7).  They also dropped battles to No. 8 Michigan (10-7) and No. 2 UCLA (10-6).

Kreiser’s best performance came in the Cal Baptist match, where she scored five goals to go along with two exclusions and two field blocks.

She also had multiple goal efforts with two apiece against the Bruins and Bulldogs.  She drew two more exclusions, and had two assists and a field block against Fresno State.   

Kreiser opened the season with a goal, and assist and two steals in the win over Fresno Pacific.  She scored a goal with an exclusion and two steals against the Wolverines.

For the week, Kreiser accumulated 11 goals, three assists, five drawn exclusions, five steals and four field blocks.
