Behind Cynthia Sanchez's record-breaking night, CSUN Women's Soccer defeated UC Riverside 3-0 in the Big West Tournament semifinals on Thursday evening at Matador Soccer Field to advance to the championship match on Sunday. Sanchez scored her 22nd and 23rd career goals to become CSUN's all-time career goal leader, while Lindsay Kutscher added an insurance goal for the Matadors in the victory. Jovani McCaskill made two saves in between the posts for her 29th career shutout.

In an epic rematch against the No.1 seeded, UC Irvine, Cal State Fullerton came back with a vengeance. The Titans advance to the Big West Championship Tournament with the 2-1 win over the Anteaters.

HOW THESE TEAMS STACK UP
In their Big West Conference opener, Cal State Fullerton and CSUN squared off at Titan Stadium and CSF skated to a 3-0 win on home turf.  Co-Goalkeeper of the Year Morgan Bertsch of CSF recorder a shutout on the night en route to what would be a seven-shutout campaign for the senior so far in 2017. Haley Brown, Jazzmin Mancilla and Tala Haddad helped Fullerton to victory with scores on the night as CSF opened conference play 1-0.
