BIG WEST AT A GLANCE
IT ALL COMES DOWN TO THIS
While UC Irvine remains undefeated in league at 4-0, the ‘Eaters will play its final match of the regular season Thursday, at Long Beach State which boasts a 3-1 record in the Big West. Should UCI win, the Anteaters would clinch its seventh regular season title in the history of the conference and would go undefeated through league for the fourth time in program history (2011, 2012, 2015). Should LBSU come out with the W, there would be a three-way tie for the title (UCI, LBSU, UH). There has not been a three-way tie for the title since 2009, the first year the Big West began sponsoring the sport. The inaugural title went to UC Irvine, UC Davis and CSUN.
If UC Irvine defeats LBSU Thursday, the seeds would be UC Irvine (1), Hawai‘i (2), Long Beach State (3). Should the Beach take down Irvine, the seeds would be as follows: (1) Hawai‘i, (2) Long Beach State, (3) UC Irvine. UC Davis is locked in at #4. CSUN and UC Santa Barbara will play for the fifth-seed, Saturday.
CATCH THEM IN DAVIS
All six Big West programs head to Davis, Calif. next weekend for the league tournament with a berth to the Big Dance on the line.
