Lundquist, Clark Help Squads To Series Wins
Brock Lundquist hit .500 and Michael Clark picked up two victories out of the bullpen as the duo earned the baseball weekly awards.
Lundquist Helps Long Beach State To Solid Big West Start
In the leadoff role, Long Beach State junior Brock Lundquist (Fountain Valley, Calif./Fountain Valley HS) hit .500 and with four extra-base hits to earn Big West Baseball Field Player of the Week accolades.
Lundquist posted four multi-hit games as the Dirtbags went 3-2 for the week. He scored six runs and drove in seven, playing a direct role in 13 of the 22 runs the team scored over five games.
He finished 2-for-3 with a double, a walk and a stolen base in a 3-1 road victory at California. Lundquist slammed a leadoff homer in a 7-3 loss to Stanford and scored two of LBSU’s runs.
In the Big West opening series at UC Santa Barbara, Lundquist was a catalyst at the top of the lineup, hitting .500 (6-for-12) with three runs and six RBIs. He hit a leadoff home run for the second straight game, finishing the contest 2-for-3 in a 3-2 loss.
Lundquist went 2-for-5 with a triple and a run scored in a 9-3 victory to even the series, and he helped the Dirtbags to the series win with two more hits in the 5-2 rubber game. He scored a run and had two RBIs to go along with two stolen bases.

Clark Delivers In Relief
Sophomore Michael Clark (Rohnert Park, Calif./Cardinal Newman HS) earned both Cal Poly wins in relief to capture Big West Baseball Pitcher of the Week honors.
The right-hander threw six innings of one-hit, scoreless baseball in his two appearances as the Mustangs won the series against UC Irvine.
On Friday, Clark tossed four scoreless innings to help the Mustangs to a 3-2 win in 10 innings. Two days later, he entered in the eighth and got the last six outs as Cal Poly won, 6-5.
Clark is now 4-0 on the year and lowered his ERA to 1.73.
