For the first time CSUN history, the Matadors claimed the Big West regular season title after a dramatic 1-0 win over Hawai‘i in double overtime, Sunday. Senior midfielder Kourtney Kutscher netted the golden goal 34 seconds into the the second OT period,
to clinch the title and the No. 1 seed in the Big West Tournament.

McCASKILL BREAKS RECORD
CSUN junior goalkeeper Jovani McCaskill has added another record to her already decorated campaign after setting a new Big West Conference mark for shutouts in a single season  with fourteen. The keeper has also helped CSUN tie the team record for clean sheets in a single season as well with 15.  The Matadors have most recently recorded six-straight shutouts in league play.

CSUN IN THE NATIONAL CONVERSATION
CSUN ranks in the top 10 nationally in the following categories: shutout percentage (.750 - 2nd), save percentage (.911 - 4th), goals against average (.374 - 4th) and shutouts (15 - T1st).

McCASKILL CONTINUES TO PULL RANK
Jovani McCaskill continues to rank nationally in shutouts as her 14 clean sheets rank second-best in the NCAA.  Her .375 goals against average is seventh-best in the country and her 1922 minutes played is best in all of DI soccer.

FIELD SET FOR BIG WEST TOURNAMENT

It came down to the final day of the regular season as the last seeds of the Big West Tournament were finalized to include: #1 CSUN, #2 UC Irvine, #3 Cal State Fullerton and #4 Long Beach State.  The Tournament will kick off on Thursday, November 3 with the first game coming at 5 pm PT featuring regular season titleholder, CSUN, at Long Beach State. The second semifinal matchup will be played at 7:30 pm between defending Tournament champion, Cal State Fullerton, and UC Irvine.
