UC SANTA BARBARA UNDEFEATED
UC Santa Barbara is 5-0 for the first time since 1993 and looks to extend its undefeated streak this weekend at home.  Should UCSB go 2-0 through its next two games, it would be its best start to open a campaign since 1990 when the Gauchos went 8-0 before a trip to the NCAA Tournament later that season. The Gauchos’ best-ever streak to begin a season was in 1989 when Santa Barbara went 12-0 before dropping a contest.

11 teams remain perfect in NCAA women’s soccer, seven of which are 5-0-0.

ON THE BALL
UC Santa Barbara junior Amanda Ball has tallied six goals and an assist for 13 points through five games. Her 3.25 points per game are fourth-best in the country while her 1.50 goals per game is second-best in the nation. Ball leads the Big West in goals with Kiana Palacios of UC Irvine (6) and owns the most points (13).

With six scores so far in 2016, Ball has already bested her goal-total from a year ago when the forward netted five.

BRITTNEY IS BRILLIANT IN GOAL
UC Santa Barbara sophomore keeper Brittney Rogers recorded her fourth-straight shutout after a 1-0 win versus Utah State, Sunday. Rogers has yet to allow a single goal this season. Her 1.000 save percent, 0 goals against and 0.00 goals-against average are best in league.

HAWAI‘I MAINTAINS HOT START
Hawai‘i remains unbeaten after six contests for a 5-0-1 start to 2016, its best mark to begin a campaign since 2007. The Rainbow Wahine would go on to the NCAA Tournament after compiling a 15-5-2 overall mark that year.

UH hits the road for the first time this season as the Rainbow Wahine head to Colorado and Denver. The ’Bows look to claim its first victory on the road since Oct. 30, 2014 when UH claimed a 1-0 win over UC Irvine on the mainland.

BERGER BETWEEN THE POSTS
Monk Berger recorded her third-consecutive shutout with a 1-0 win over Saint Mary’s, Friday.
Her 0.47 goals-against average is fourth-best in league while her three goals allowed is also the fourth-fewest in the Big West.  Her 30 saves are second-best just shy of UC Riverside Alanna Guzman’s 32.

RANKED OPPONENTS
The Big West will face two ranked opponents this weekend as  UC Davis heads to No. 10 California, Sunday at 1 pm.  No. 21 Pepperdine will travel to CSUN to face the Matadors, Sunday at 6pm.  Long Beach State is also receiving votes in the NSCAA/Continental Tire Poll.
