BIG WEST AT A GLANCE

RAINBOW WAHINE TAKE FOURTH
Hawai‘i traveled to the mainland last weekend for the prestigious UC Irvine Invitational and took down No. 3 California in a 7-6 final enroute to its fourth-place finish in the tournament.  The top-five finish is the best for the program since 2011.  Hawai‘i also recorded Ws over No. 12 Pacific (7-6) and Claremont (20-3).  Hawaii’s 20 goals versus Claremont are the most they’ve scored versus a single opponent this year.

IN THE POLLS
After going 3-2 over the weekend, the Rainbow Wahine received a No. 4 ranking in the CWPA weekly poll for the third time this season.  The No. 4 ranking is the highest for the Rainbow Wahine in program history.  While all six Big West programs appear in the top-25, this marks the 45th-straight week that all teams have been ranked including preseason polls dating back to May 5, 2013.

GAUCHOS GO 2-0
After dropping its first two contests at the Irvine Invitational, UC Santa Barbara turned things around and went 2-0 on the second day of competition in southern California.
