UCSB's Bryan Guijarro and Anthony Ortolan will join Cal Poly's Peyton Bilo in representing the #BigWest at the #NCAAXC Championships Saturday.

The Big West will be represented at the NCAA Cross Country national championship meet as three athletes earned at-large status into the event.

The men's field will include the UC Santa Barbara senior duo of Bryan Guijarro and Anthony Ortolan, while Cal Poly's Peyton Bilo will compete in the women's race.

In order to be eligible to participate in the championships, teams and individuals qualified in their respective NCAA regional competitions.

Thirty-one teams were selected to participate in each championship. The top two, seven-person teams automatically qualified from each of the nine regions, for a total of 18 teams. Thirteen additional teams were selected at-large.

Thirty-eight individuals were selected to participate in each championship through an automatic qualifier and at-large selection process. All individual qualifiers finished in the top 25 in their regions.

Guijarro was the top Big West competitor on the men's side, finishing the 10K in 11th place at 31:21.0. He didn't have to wait long for his teammate as Ortolan completed the course in 31:24.1 which was good for 13th.

Meanwhile in the women's race, Bilo was the lone Big West runner to finish in the top 25, running the 6K course in 21:00.5 which landed her in 12th place.

The University of Louisville will host the championships, Saturday, November 21, at Tom Sawyer State Park located in Louisville, Kentucky. The women’s race will begin at noon Eastern Time, followed by the men’s race at approximately 1 p.m. Eastern Time. A live webcast of the championships will be broadcast from noon Eastern Time until the conclusion of the awards ceremony, Saturday, November 21, on NCAA.com.
