Blue Green Outcome: Cal Poly fell 4-0 to its central coast rival, UC Santa Barbara, when it visited Harder Stadium on Thursday.  It was just the second victory for the Gauchos over the Mustangs since 2008 and Thursday’s defeat marked the first game since 2013 in which CP conceded more than two goals.

Giannetti In The Books: Earlier this season, senior goalkeeper Alyssa Giannetti surpassed Cal Poly’s all-time record for starts in goal with 74 in her career as a Mustang.  With three saves in Thursday’s rivalry matchup, the senior climbed in the Big West record book for career stops and now owns second-most all-time with 368.  Giannetti is 20 saves away from matching the all-time best in league (388).

Welcome Home Party: CP will host UC Irvine Friday and UC Riverside Sunday as the two Southern Calif. clubs make their way to Alex G. Spanos Stadium.  Irvine is hot on the heels of a 2-0 win over Long Beach State while UCR went 1-1 last weekend picking up a win over Long Beach State before dropping a 1-0 contest to Cal State Fullerton.  CP looks to break the NCAA attendance record, Thursday.

Back-To-Back Unbeaten Weekends:  Cal State Fullerton recorded its second consecutive undefeated weekend after recording two Ws in conference.  The Titans claimed a 2-1 win at UC Irvine and a 1-0 shutout victory at UC Riverside.  The Titans host CSUN next for their lone match of the weekend, Sunday

Win-Total:   Fullerton’s 12 wins are the most for the Titans since 2007 (12-8-2), coach Demian Brown’s first year at the helm for the program.

Goal-Total:  With 35 goals, CSF has netted the most scores since the 2005 squad put away 50.

Stuart-Total:   Senior goalkeeper Jennifer Stuart has 10 Ws on the season, the more for a Fullerton keeper since Karen Bardsley had 12 wins in 2006.

Wilson-Total:
Senior forward Rebecca Wilson found the back of the net last weekend for a 15-score season total which ranks eighth-best in Big West history.

CSUN

Plus Three Points: CSUN enjoyed an undefeated weekend after defeating Hawai‘i 1-0 at Waipio Peninsula Soccer Stadium, Sunday.  With the win, the Matadors improve to 10-5-1 overall and remain unbeaten in conference action, the only team in the Big West without a blemish.

Hot Start:  With 10 wins in 2015, CSUN is in the midst of its first 10-win season since 2012 and coach West’s fifth double-digit win campaign at the helm since taking over the reigns in 2006.

Sanchez Owns The Record:  Earlier this season, sophomore Cynthia Sanchez netter her 10th goal on the year to set a new single season record for the program.

#BWCWords: Head Coach Keith West on victory:  “The defense was fantastic tonigh.  Anytime you have a clean sheet, you will take it. Hawai’i had a great side tonight, but we played very well to earn the victory.”

Goal-Getting:  While Breanna McCallum netted Sunday’s game-winner, the junior became the 12th Matador to score this season.

Weekend Struggle:  Long Beach State’s perfect mark in league came to an end last weekend after dropping its two Big West’s contests.  The Beach fell 2-1 to UC Riverside at home and fell to UC Irvine in Anteater Stadium in a 2-0 finish at the most recent installment of the Black and Blue Rivalry.

Opponent Scores:  Friday’s game marked the first time since Sept. 26 that the 49ers gave up a goal, it was also the first goal conceded to a conference opponenent.

Shots Fired:  Despite dropping its contest to the Anteaters, LBSU owned a 14-9 shot advantage over UCI and earned six corner kicks to Irvine’s none.  The Beach also outshot the Highlanders 13-7 the match prior and owned a 6-3 edge in shots on frame.

Coming Up Next:  Long Beach will play another on the roa, this time at CSUN, Thursday before returning home Sunday to host Hawai‘i.  CSUN remains the only unbeaten team in the Big West while the Rainbow Wahine look for their first win in conference play.  LBSU looks to pick up points this weekend as the Tournament is just three weeks away.

UC DAVIS

Heartbreaking End:  UC Davis took an early 1-0 lead over UC Santa Barbara
in the 18th minute Sunday, but the Gauchos would come from behind to secure a 2-1 win at Aggie Soccer Field.  Davis moved to 8-6-2 overll and 1-3-1 in league.

#BWCWords:  Head Coach Twila Kaufman on Andi Damian’s goal - “We talk about goal scoring, and one of those ways is an individual moment of brilliance. This is a world-class goal, and she is capable of replicating this in the near future.”

2015 Squad Sets Win-Streak Mark:  Earlier this season the Aggies won five consecutive contests to set a new program record.  Five back-to-back Ws is the longest streak of clean sheets recorded by any UC Davis women’s soccer team since its transition to Division I play in 2007.

Smith Breaks Into Record Book:  Freshman goalkeeper Alexis Smith has nine shutouts on the year, a mark that ties for ninth-best in the Big West record book for shutouts in a single season.

Big Win For Anteaters:  UC Irvine might have dropped its first contest of the weekend in a 2-1 finish to Cal State Fullerton, but the Anteaters picked up a big win Sunday evening in a 2-0 shutout victory over Long Beach State in the Black and Blue Rivalry meeting.  Senior goalkeeper Corey Tobin kept the Beach scoreless and picked up her sixth shutout on the year.

#BWCWords:  Head Coach Scott Juniper on win versus LBSU - “Really proud of the team.  We talked about how well we did Friday, but took 15 minutes off in the second half. The commitment tonight was we were going to do it for 90 minutes, and I think we saw a fully committed performance for 90 minutes. We brought the Anteater soccer energy for 90 minutes.”

Tournament Time: Irvine looks to ride the momentum from Sunday’s W into its upcoming roadtrip at Cal Poly Friday and UC Santa Barbara Sunday.  The Anteaters have six points in league and are looking to crack into the top four teams to secure a spot in the Big West Tournament.  This would be UCI’s first appearance since 2013.

Weekend Split:  UC Riverside battled two tough opponents over the weekend in Long Beach State and Cal State Fullerton, picking up a 2-1 win over the 49ers before the Titans snapped UCR’s three-game win-streak in a 1-0 finish.  The Highlanders moved to 9-7-0 overall and 3-2-0 in league.  UCR is tied with Long Beach State and UC Santa Barbara for third place in the standings with nine points as they continue to knock on the Tournament’s door.

Next In League:  Riverside hits the road to travel up the Central Coast for a match at UC Santa Barbara and Cal Poly.

Upcoming Opponents:  The Highlanders are 4-11-0 against the Gauchos all-time, but have clinched two of the three most recent meetings.  Against the Mustangs, the Highlanders are 2-8-4 all-time while their last win versus CP came in 2011.

Barrio Nets Two:  Junior Blanca Barrio scored both of Riverside’s goals in the 2-1 win over the Beach to bring her season total to 10 goals.  Barrio leads the Highlanders in goals scored this season and has 16 points to her name in 2015.

UC SANTA BARBARA
Instagram: ucsbwomensoccer
Twitter: @UCSBWomenSoccer

Back-To-Back:  UC Santa Barbara recorded an undefeated weekend in league after a domineering 4-0 shutout win versus rival, Cal Poly, and a 2-1 come-from-behind victory at UC Davis.

#BWCWords:  Head Coach Paul Stumpf on come-from-behind W - “This group just keeps impressing us. It’s not just wins, this group can play soccer, or grit it out in an ugly way when required and that’s what was required today.”

Win-Streaking:  The Gauchos’ five-game unbeaten streak earlier this season equals the team’s longest since Sept. of 2013 when it won five games in a row and the last time it had a longer unbeaten stretch was in 2006 when it went 5-0-2 over a seven-game stretch.  UCSB is the fourth program to mount at least a five-game win streak after CSUN, UC Davis and Cal State Fullerton.

In The Hunt:  The Gauchos have won five of their last six matches and sit in third place with Long Beach State and UC Riverside who also have nine points in conference.  UCSB will square off with UC Riverside Friday, before closing out the regular season at CSUN the following weekend.

HAWAI'I

Twitter: @UHWahineSoccer

Looking For A Win:  Hawai‘i was unable to put a score on the board at home last weekend when the Rainbow Wahine hosted CSUN, Sunday.  The Matadors claimed a narrow 1-0 victory over UH as the Rainbow Wahine still seek their first league W.

Crawford Leads In Goals Scored:  With her last score coming on Sept. 24, Dani Crawford still leads the Rainbow Wahine in goals scored with three on the year.  Lidia Battaglia and Tiana Fujimoto have two apiece on the year.

Mainland Mission:  UH will hit the road this weekend as it travels first to UC Davis (8-6-2) and then Long Beach State (8-5-3).  On a five-game skid, UH still has the opportunity to pick up nine points with three games remaining in the regular season.

Sights On Big West Tournament: Since joining the conference in 2013, Hawai‘i looks to make its first Big West Tournament in program history as a member of the Big West.
