Weekend Struggle: Cal Poly dropped a pair of matches last weekend in conference as it fell to Long Beach State at home in a 2-0 decision Thursday, and fell to the Matadors in a 2-1 finish at CSUN.  Despite back-to-back losses, the Mustangs have scored eight goals in its last three outings after netting seven against Hawai‘i the weekend prior.

Giannetti Sets New Career Mark: With her 72nd and 73rd start in goal this weekend, senior goalkeeper Alyssa Giannetti surpassed the all-time program record (72) set by Kristina Grigaitis from 1993-96.  The senior is also just 13 stops away from matching the Big West all-time career saves record (388) held by Tawny Poggio (2003-06).

Coming Up For The Mustangs: CP will play its lone match at UC Santa Barbara Thursday in the latest installment of the storied Blue Green Rivalry.  The Mustangs own a 4-1 advantage in its last five matchups versus the Gauchos, its only loss coming in 2011 in that era.  So far this season, the Mustangs are 2-3-3 on the road overall and own a 1-2 mark on the road in league contests.

Weekend Sweep:
Cal State Fullerton sent a message to the Big West last weekend with back-to-back shutout victories at home including a 1-0 win versus UC Davis and a 4-0 decision in favor of the Titans over Hawai‘i.

Rebecca Wilson Nets Hat Trick:  Senior forward Rebecca Wilson recorded the first hat trick for the Titans since 2012 to help CSF secure a domineering 4-0 shutout win Sunday. The senior recorded seven points in the match (3 g, 1 a), becoming the seventh player in Fullerton history to accomplish the feat.  Wilson now has 14 goals on the year, a mark that ranks third all-time in Titan history.  Her 14 goals this campaign also tie for 10th-best all-time in the Big West record book while she chases a conference-best 25-goal total set by UCSB’s Krystal Sandza in 2002. The senior is also six scores away from cracking the top 10 in career goals netted.

On The Road Again:  Fullerton hits the road to face UC Irvine Friday and UC Riverside, Sunday.

Sanchez Sets New Record:  Sophomore Cynthia Sanchez netted both goals in CSUN’s 2-0 victory over the Anteaters to record her 9th and 10th goals on the year - a new single season record for the program.

#BWCWords: Sanchez on setting new program mark: “Every time I step out onto the field, I want to score for the team. I want us to all succeed together and if that means I’m scoring goals then okay. I just look at the outcome and that we all win.”

Beach Remains Perfect In League:
After the second week of league play, Long Beach State remains the only unbeaten and untied team in the Big West after picking up a 1-0 shutout win over UC Santa Barbara, Sunday.  The Beach improved to 8-3-3 OA and is 3-0 in conference for the first time since 2011.

Clean Sheet Shake-Up:  The 49er defense, anchored by junior goalkeeper Ashton McKeown, has recorded three consecutive shutout wins and has yet to give up a goal versus a conference opponent.  The last match in which LBSU gave up a goal was on Sept. 26, extending its shutout streak to 288:50.  While the Beach has found the back of the net 18 times in 2015, it has only conceded seven scores.

McKeown Makes The Mark:  McKeown currently leads the league with a .877 save percentage and a 0.48 goals-against average.  With her eighth solo shutout of 2015, the junior’s GAA is currently the best in Long Beach single-season history.

Back To George Allen:  After a weekend on the road, the 49ers entertain UC Riverside before heading to UC Irvine.

Last Weekend On The Road:  UC Davis struggled on its Southern California road trip last weekend where it dropped its two contests.  Reigning champion, Cal State Fullerton, first tested the Aggies Friday, claiming the win while UCD fell 1-0 before traveling to UC Riverside where the Highlanders claimed a 3-1 W.  Despite the bump in the road, the Aggies look to get back to Titan Stadium for the Big West Tournament in less than a month.

Versus UC Riverside:  Sunday’s outcome marked the first match the Aggies dropped to the Highlanders since 2009.

2015 Squad Sets Win-Streak Mark:  Earlier this season the Aggies won five consecutive contests to set a new program record.  Five back-to-back Ws is the longest streak of clean sheets recorded by any UC Davis women’s soccer team since its transition to Division I play in 2007.

Headed North:  UC Davis returns from its SoCal roadtrip to host UC Santa Barbara and Hawai‘i this weekend.  The Aggies are 6-2-1 at home this season and have not dropped a match at home since Sept. 11.

Even In League:  For its second-straight single-match weekend, UC Irvine fell victim to CSUN in a 2-0 decision, Thursday night.  The result marked the ninth time in 13 games that Irvine and its opponent netted two or fewer goals in the matchup.

#BWConESPN3:
This week’s matchup between Long Beach State and UC Irvine at Anteaters Stadium will be broadcast on ESPN3, ESPN’s digital platform.  Sunday marks the first Big West Conference women’s soccer game to be broadcast on
ESPN3.

Storied Matchups:
This weekend, UC Irvine will face the league’s two teams who have received votes in the polls including Cal State Fullerton, the defending Big West Tournament and regular season champion and Long Beach State who was ranked as high as 23rd in the nation this season.

Tournament Time: With six games remaining in the regular season, UCI has picked up a key three points so far in the year and looks to make the Big West Tournament for the first time since 2013.

An Unbeaten Weekend:  UC Riverside collected six points over the course of last weekend after defeating Hawai‘i in a 2-1 fashion and UC Davis in a 3-1 decision at home.  The matches marked UCR’s third undefeated weekend of the 2015 campaign.

Next In League:  The Highlanders will travel to Long Beach State’s house Friday before returning home to host Cal State Fullerton.

To Get To Titan Stadium:  The Highlanders continue their quest to the Big West postseason tournament that will be held at Titan Stadium in Nov. and look to make their first appearance since 2013.   That tournament, the Highlanders played to a double over time stalemate at 1-1 but the Titans would advance on penalty kicks.

Blanca Will Assist You Now:
Junior Blanca Barrio recorded a paor of assists over the weekend for a total of 12 in her career.  Her six-assist season total is second-best in league, while her 12 overall is third-best in Highlander history.

UC SANTA BARBARA

Split In League:  UC Santa Barbara fell to Long Beach State Sunday in a 1-0 decision and move to 8-4-1 overall and 1-1 in Big West action.  Santa Barbara sits tied for sixth-place with three points on the year.

Win-Streaking:  The Gauchos’ five-game unbeaten streak earlier this season equals the team’s longest since Sept. of 2013 when it won five games in a row and the last time it had a longer unbeaten stretch was in 2006 when it went 5-0-2 over a seven-game stretch.  UCSB is the fourth program to mount at least a five-game win streak after CSUN, UC Davis and Cal State Fullerton.

Bounce-Back:  The Gauchos have won three of their last four games and look to bounce back Thursday with the latest installment in the storied Blue Green Rivalry.  UCSB looks for its first W in the series since 2011.

Destination, Davis:  After hosting the Mustangs, the Gauchos will head north to face UC Davis, Sunday.  Davis has a one-point advantage over UCSB in the standings and both look to add to their point-total.

Looking To Turn Things Around:  Hawai‘i has struggled in league as of late, dropping its most recent two contests to UC Riverside (2-1) and Cal State Fullerton (4-0).  The Rainbow Wahine seek their first win in conference play as they return to the island for a Sunday evening matchup.

Crawford Leads In Goals Scored:  With her last score coming on Sept. 24, Dani Crawford still leads the Rainbow Wahine in goals scored with three on the year.  Lidia Battaglia and Tiana Fujimoto have two apiece on the year.

Season-High Saves:  With 71:30 minutes in goal on Sunday, goalkeeper Monk Berger recorded a season-high eight saves versus Cal State Fullerton.  The junior now has a total of 43 stops on the year, the fifth-most in league.

Sights On Big West Tournament: Since joining the conference in 2013, Hawai‘i looks to make its first Big West Tournament in program history as a member of the Big West.
