Tyler Pham and Viktoria Malova did not lose a match nor a set en route to Big West Tennis Athlete of the Week honors.
Pham Extends Singles Winning Streak To 13 Straight
Tyler Pham (San Diego, Calif./Rancho Bernardo HS) posted a combined 8-0 record in singles and doubles while helping UC Irvine win five in a row, earning him Big West Men’s Tennis Athlete of the Week accolades.
Pham was at the forefront of a marathon of matches – five in a span of 60 hours. The Anteaters won all five by a combined score of 33-2, and he was victorious in straight sets in all five of his matchups at No. 2 singles .
He also played at all three spots in the doubles lineup with various partners, and won all three matches that were completed. Pham has won 13 straight matches at singles and five in a row in doubles.

Malova Helps Lift Hawai‘i To Big West Triumph
Hawai‘i freshman Viktoria Malova (Banska Bystrica, Slovakia) captured Big West Women’s Tennis Athlete of the Week honors after being the team’s only player to win both of her singles and doubles matches.
Malova accounted for the Rainbow Wahine’s only point in a 6-1 loss to SMU. She dispatched Anna Kate Anderson in straight sets, 7-5, 6-3. She also combined with Sarah Gealer for a 6-2 win at No. 3 doubles over the SMU tandem of Yana Erkeeva and Mary Wright.
In a 4-3 victory over Cal State Fullerton, Malova won her No. 2 singles match against Camille De Leon, 6-3, 6-2, and teamed with Gealer to win 8-3 in doubles.
