For the 19th-straight poll published by the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA), all Big West women's water polo programs have been ranked in the top 20 nationally. All six programs were ranked for the entirity of the 2014 campaign and all seven, including Pacific, were ranked in the final poll of the 2013 season.
UC Irvine Climbs Ranks
For the first time since April 10, 2014 UC Irvine received a No. 5 national ranking by the CWPA after a weekend that saw a 3-1 showing versus three top 20 opponents including No. 12 UC San Diego, No. 5 Arizona State and No. 3 USC. The Anteaters are just a week out from hosting the prestigious UC Irvine invitational which features 16 ranked programs, but before the tournament action, Irvine will face No. 2 UCLA Friday in Los Angeles.
West Coast Meets East Coast
Long Beach State heads to the Buknell Invitational where it willl kick off tournament play with three matches on Saturday. The Beach is led by senior Justine Morgan, who scored four goals throughout the UC San Diego Triton Invitational. She scored two goals in the fourth quarter against UC San Diego to lead the Beach into overtime.
