Meneses Helps Keep Long Beach State Rolling

Senior Hallie Meneses (San Francisco, Calif./City College of San Francisco) notched Big West Women's Basketball Player of the Week accolades after she helped extend Long Beach State's winning streak to 15 straight games while averaging 16.0 points in a pair of road victories.

The 5-5 point guard came up big in an 85-74 win against Cal Poly on Thursday as she poured in a career-high 26 points. She made 8-for-11 from the field, 2-for-4 from three-point range and 8-for-10 from the free throw line. Meneses added two rebounds and a team-high four assists in 30 minutes of action.

Meneses returned two days later with six points, three rebounds and a game-high eight assists versus UC Santa Barbara in an 81-44 triumph.

For the week, she shot 69.2 (9-of-13) percent from the field and 78.6 (11-of-14) percent from the free throw line. Her 3-for-6 performance from the three-point line gave her 95 for her career, placing her 10th in program history.

In winning 15 straight games, the 49ers are now 17-1 overall and a perfect 4-0 in the Big West.
