ANTEATER ASCENSION
After a 2-0 weekend over UC Santa Barbara and Cal State Northridge, UC Irvine heads into the final weekend of conference play with a perfect 4-0 record in league.  The Anteaters will face Long Beach State in their final Big West matchup before taking on Loyola Marymount Sunday.  The ’Eaters have earned a No. 1 seed in the Big West Tournament to secure a bye in the first round of the tourney.  Looking to avenge last season’s end, UCI is out to clinch the Tournament Title after falling to Hawai‘i in a double overtime 5-4 decision in the championship game.

HAWAI‘I CLEARS FINAL HURDLE

Hawai‘i swept its final weekend of regular season play, topping UC Davis in a 5-4 decision and Cal State Monterey Bay 14-5.  The Rainbow Wahine look to defend their 2013 Tournament Title as they face the Aggies on the first day of play in the conference tournament.

BEST IN THE WEST
All six Big West representatives have been ranked in the top 20 of the Collegiate Water Polo Association Poll in all 14 thus far, including the preseason poll.  Last year, six of the eight teams completed the feat for the entire season.  Just two polls remain in 2014.
