Long Beach State earned a 6-1 win against Cal State Fullerton last week to improve to 2-0 in the Big West and extend its winning streak at the Rhodes Tennis Center to 15 straight matches. The 49ers have not lost a home match since Mar. 20, 2012 against Nebraska. LBSU also has won 49 of its last 51 Big West regular season contests. The No. 46-ranked 49ers continue a current five-match homestand against Loyola Marymount and San Jose State this weekend.

First Conference Match Takes Place In Men’s Tennis
The first of many men’s tennis conference matches to be contested in the next couple of months takes place this Saturday when UC Riverside travels to UC Davis. Both programs enter the week looking to dent the win column. The Highlanders (0-8) face Sacramento State on Friday. UCR has been on the cusp of victory, compiling three points in a pair of matches. The Aggies look to erase an 0-4 start against Sonoma State in what represents the first match of a doubleheader before their showdown with UCR.
Mustangs Look For First Win
The Cal Poly men’s tennis squad seeks its first win of the 2014 campaign following an uncharacteristic 0-6 start. The Mustangs finished 14-9 last year and earned a share of the Big West regular season championship, but lost All-American Andre Dome to graduation. Cal Poly hosts Arizona and No. 43 San Diego this week.
