UC Davis senior Devon Damelio (Fairfield, Calif./Rodriguez HS) received Big West Women’s Volleyball Player of the Week recognition after leading her team to a conference sweep of UC Riverside and Cal State Fullerton.

The 6-1 right side hitter hit .352 with averages of 5.00 kills, 3.38 digs and 0.75 blocks per set.  Damelio produced 40 kills with just eight errors in 91 swings on the week.

Damelio was one of three players with 12 kills in the 25-15, 25-15, 25-19 sweep of the Highlanders, adding four assists, three digs and three blocks on .320 hitting.

In a five-set marathon with the Titans, Damelio delivered a career-high 28 kills and career-high tying 24 digs.  She ended the match with a flourish, serving up the final five points and recording three kills in the 6-0 finishing stretch to bring the Aggies back from a 14-10 deficit in the fifth set.

Damelio also passed effectively, as she received 39 service with only one ace against (.974) for the weekend.
