Shoji Ties Record, No. 9 Rainbow Wahine Sweep New Mexico State
History was made at the Stan Sheriff Center on Thursday night, as head coach Dave Shoji etched his name in the NCAA record books. The No. 9 University of Hawai'i Rainbow Wahine volleyball team swept New Mexico State (25-17, 25-23, 25-15) on day one of the Hawaiian Airlines Rainbow Wahine Classic to give Shoji his 1,106th victory, equaling him with former UCLA coach Andy Banachowski for the most wins in NCAA Division I women's volleyball history.
Cal Poly Men's Soccer Makes History in 3-0 Win at No. 6 UCLA
First-half goals from sophomore winger Chase Minter and senior forward Mackenzie Pridham provided the Cal Poly men's soccer program a commanding early lead and senior forward Chris Bernardi rounded off victory with a late strike as the Mustangs defeated their highest ranked opponent in program history with a 3-0 triumph versus No. 6 UCLA at Drake Stadium on Thursday evening.
