Standhardinger Helps Hawai'i Extend Road Win Streak to Three

Christian Standhardinger (Munich, Germany/Nebraska) averaged 20.5 points and shot over 55 percent in victories over UC Riverside and Cal State Fullerton, garnering the Hawai’i junior Big West Men's Basketball Player of the Week accolades.alt

The Warriors have now won three straight road games for the first time in nine years.

Standhardinger supported the cause in a big way as his 23 points and 10 rebounds aided UH's comeback from an 11-point second-half deficit in the 72-68 triumph over the Highlanders.  In addition to collecting his eighth double-double of the season, the 6-8 forward sank a free throw with six seconds remaining to cement the victory.  He made 9 of 16 floor shots in his 36 minutes of play.

In the 77-75 win against the Titans, Standhardinger spearheaded another UH comeback as the team trailed by as many as 12 points in the second stanza.  Standhardinger had 18 points, eight rebounds, a blocked shot and four steals as UH improved to 7-4 in conference action and took over sole possession of third place.  He hit 7 of 13 shots from the field.

For the week, Standhardinger connected at a 55.2 (16 of 29) percent clip from the floor and added 9.0 rebounds and 2.0 steals per game.
