Senior Dylan Royer (Los Osos, Calif./Morro Bay HS) captured Big West Men's Basketball Player of the Week accolades as his lethal perimeter shooting helped Cal Poly upset No. 11 UCLA.

The 6-1 forward knocked down a career-high six three-pointers as the Mustangs became the first team to defeat the Bruins at the New Pauley Pavilion. Royer accumulated all 18 of his career-high tying points on threes in the 70-68 triumph. He added three rebounds, two steals and an assist in 29 minutes.
The victory at UCLA was Cal Poly's first against a ranked foe in 19 Division I seasons. Royer helped the Mustangs overcome an 18-point deficit in the second half, hitting a trey with two minutes and 40 seconds left to even the score at 65-65.
Royer also reached double figures in scoring in Cal Poly's 76-67 home loss to Fresno State on Monday. He finished the game with 12 points on 5 of 9 from the floor, including 2 of 6 from three-point range. Royer added three assists and a pair of steals to his stat line.
For the week, he led Cal Poly in points (30), points per game (15.0) and three-point percentage (.500). He shot 57.9 (11 of 19) percent overall while averaging 15.0 points and 2.0 steals per game.
