Both teams meet with at-large berths, Santa Clara (11-3-6) finishing third in the West Coast Conference, while Long Beach (12-7-0) finished fifth, missing the conference tournament.
The ranked No. 16 Broncos hold a 1-4-0 advantage over the 49er’s, their last meeting a 1-0 loss in 2010.
The winners of both matchups will go on to the second round and play at campus sites on Thursday, November 22 or Saturday, November 24.
