Johnson's Double-Doubles Help Long Beach State to Road Sweep

Janisa Johnson (Long Beach, Calif./Wilson HS) steered Long Beach State to a pair of conference road wins on the strength of two double-doubles, earning the senior Big West Women's Volleyball Player of the Week accolades.

Johnson posted a team-high 19 kills in both matches as the 49ers upended Pacific and UC Davis in four sets.  She amassed 22 digs against the Tigers to go along with three assists, two blocks and a .275 (19-5-51) hitting percentage.  Against the Aggies, the 5-8 outside hitter notched a team-best 25 digs and hit .305 (19-5-46) as LBSU improved to 13-11 overall and 8-5 in the Big West.

She added seven assists, a service ace and two block assists to complete her all-around effort versus UCD.

For the week, Johnson averaged 4.75 kills, 5.88 digs and 0.50 blocks per set while connecting at a .289 (38-10-97) clip for both matches. 

Johnson has tallied 11 double-doubles on the season, including a current streak of five straight contests.
