Barak Assists On Both Matador Goals In Key Win
Cal State Northridge senior Yuval Barak collected both assists in a key 2-1 victory against UC Riverside, earning him Big West Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week accolades.
Barak played all 103-plus minutes in the double overtime triumph. He set up Northridge's first goal in the 48th minute as his pass to Chris Smith was on target.
In the 104th minutes, Barak served a corner kick into the box that found Rene Anguiano for the golden goal. Barak now has five assists on the season.
UCR's only goal came by way of a penalty kick.
The win lifted Northridge's Big West record to 4-1 with 12 points overall. The Matadors lead everyone else in the South Division by at least nine points as the conference season has reached the midway point.
