Both Cal Poly and Cal State Fullerton went 2-0 last week against league opponents, with both pair of matches requiring extra minutes to determine a winner.

With a 4-0 start this season, Cal Poly (4-0-0) is one win away from tying their best conference start back in 2002, going 5-0.  Cal Poly pulled out two big wins last week, first against 2011 regular-season champions UC Irvine (2-1 OT) and second against 2011 Big West Tournament Champions, Long Beach State in a 4-3 (2OT) win.

Fullerton (3-1-0) won it’s first match last week against Cal State Northridge just 58 seconds into the first overtime period.  JeAnne Mazeau took a pass from younger sister, Erica, for the game-winning goal.  Fullerton went on to play a double-overtime match against Hawai’i to come out on top, 1-0 with little sister Erica scoring the game-winning goal.
