Junior Emily Hartong helped Hawai‘i remain undefeated in conference play to earn Big West Women's Volleyball Player of the Week accolades.
The 6-2 outside hitter averaged 5.14 kills, 2.86 digs and 0.71 blocks per set as the Rainbow Wahine knocked off Cal Poly (3-1) and UC Santa Barbara (3-0) on the road. Hartong swung at a .281 (36-9-96) clip while UH improved to 7-0 in the Big West.
Against the Mustangs Friday, Hartong tallied 20 kills, nine digs and three blocks in the four-set victory. The 20 kills was just one shy of her season-high that she set at Cal State Fullerton.
One night later, Hartong blasted 16 kills and added 11 digs for her fourth double-double of the season. She hit .341 (16-2-41) overall in the sweep of the Gauchos.
For the week, Hartong compiled 36 kills, 20 digs, five blocks and a service ace to help her eighth-ranked team rise to 14-2 overall.
