LBSU Makes Top-10 NCAA Women's Soccer RPI List

The 49ers continue to be ranked in the National Soccer Coaches Association (NSCAA) since the start of the season, currently in the 21st position as of Sept. 25, 2012. This week Long Beach was also found in NCAA Women’s Soccer RPI rankings at No. 7.
Cal State Northridge, Long Beach State and UC Riverside have all started this season with better numbers than last season at this point.
Despite last weeks performance of two losses, the Matadors have just one non-conference matchup left this week, going in with a 3-3-3 record (.500). Last season at this time Northridge was 2-6-1 going into conference games.
Long Beach State has had a 7-3-0 start compared to last season’s 7-3-1, while UC Riverside started off 5-5-1 last season and has improved to 5-4-2 going into conference play this week.
Putting in Extra Time
Twenty-five total games have gone into extra minutes, and 13 of those have gone into double-overtime, with all teams contributing thus far. Hawai’i has recorded four total overtime matches while recording a 2-0-2 record in extra play. The Highlander’s match Hawai’i’s total while winning two in overtime and finishing even draw in two double-overtime matches.
Long Beach has played in four OT matches with a 3-1-0 record, as well as Cal State Northridge bringing in four games of extra minutes, most recent loss last week to ranked Santa Clara.
UC Davis have all competed in three overtime matches, UCSB and Cal State Fullerton have recorded two, and Cal Poly, Pacific and UC Irvine have all played in one.
