Big West Women's Soccer Puts In Extra Time

Twenty-two total games have gone into extra minutes, and 11 of those have gone into double-overtime, with all but two conference teams contributing thus far.  Hawai’i has recorded four total overtime matches while recording a 2-0-2 record in extra play.  The Highlanders’ match Hawai’i’s total while winning two in overtime and finishing even draw in two double-overtime matches. 

Cal State Northridge, Long Beach State and UC Davis have all competed in three overtime matches, UCSB and Cal State Fullerton have recorded two, and both Cal Poly has played in one.

Link Collects 1st Career Hat Trick


Senior 49er, Nadia Link achieved her first career hat trick this past weekend in a 3-2 win over North Texas.  After suffering their second loss of the season against ranked Texas A&M Friday, Link came our firing with two goals in the first half, and the game winning goal in the second half on Sunday.

Long Beach State continues to have a presence in the rankings sitting at No. 20 with the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Poll.

Jacobo Saves the Day

Senior goalkeeper for Cal State Northridge, Cynthia Jacobo broke into the Big West all-time record books for 15 saves in a single game this past week against USC.  Jacobo earns the fifth spot, tied with three other individuals.  The senior has also recorded three shutouts so far this season, and has 20 in her career, tied for tenth in all-time Big West career shutouts.
