Student Spotlight: UC Riverside's Raquel Hefflin
Sophomore Raquel Hefflin is competing in her second season with the UC Riverside Highlanders women's cross country team. This year she is looking to build on an impressive freshman campaign that witnessed a top 10 finish in her first collegiate race - Nevada Chase Race - and a team-best mark of 21:08.30 (6K) at the Big West Cross Country Championship. The Compton, Calif., native finished 13th in her first meet of the 2012 season and is awaiting the opportunity to compete on her home course this weekend with the UC Riverside Invitational.
Before she races in front of her fans, we thought we would take a minute to learn a little more about Highlander Raquel Hefflin.
