The Missouri Athletic Club and the National Soccer Coaches Association (NSCAA) released the 2012 MAC Hermann Trophy Watch Lists identifying Long Beach State’s senior, Nadia Link among the 38 women selected.
Link captured multiple postseason awards in 2011, was named a third team NSCAA/Continental Tire All-American in addition to claiming first team All-West Region and Big West Offensive Player of the Year laurels. She topped the Big West in goals (16), assists (10) and points (42) last season and enters the 2012 campaign as the conference’s active career leader with 24 goals and 59 points. Her 11 career assists is second among current Big West players
Senior Nadia Link is expected to lead the 49ers once again in 2012 as Long Beach was ranked No. 18 by the NCSAA Preseason Poll last week.
The MAC Herman Trophy award is the highest individual award presented in intercollegiate soccer. Of the 38 women selected, the list will be narrowed down by the NSCAA members from Division I programs to 15 semifinalist by November 29.
The top three choices will be named finalists by December 6, followed by the winner announced Friday, January 1 at the annual Missouri Athletic Club awards banquet in St. Louis.
