Wagman Tosses Five-Hit Complete Game as Cal Poly Beats UCSB, 5-1

Junior right-hander Joey Wagman, who never pitched a complete game in high school, earned his first collegiate complete game Friday night with a five-hitter as Cal Poly defeated Central Coast rival UC Santa Barbara 5-1 in the opener of a Big West Conference baseball series Friday night before 1,226 in Baggett Stadium.

Floro Tosses Gem, Beats Riverside, 3-2

Dylan Floro pitched eight strong innings and Michael Lorenzen got the final three outs for his 16th save Friday night as No. 8-ranked Cal State Fullerton (33-16, 15-4) won the opener of a 3-game Big West Conference series over UC Riverside, 3-2.

Johnny Bekakis was 3-for-3 with a double and two runs scored to stake Long Beach State to a 5-2 lead, and sophomore Kyle Friedrichs finished the job with a tremendous relief appearance, making a four-out save to seal the win and stop a late Pacific rally as the Dirtbags won 5-4.

Eric Johnson went 3-for-5 while Brett Morgan drove in three runs as the UC Davis baseball team claimed a 9-5 victory over Cal State Northridge on Friday in a Big West Conference matchup at Matador Field in Northridge.

Thurman Deals One-Hitter To Blank Bakersfield

Andrew Thurman dealt a one-hit complete-game shutout as the Anteaters handed CSU Bakersfield a 7-0 loss Friday at Cicerone Field at Anteater Ballpark. The complete game was the fourth of the year for the right-hander, who struck out six and improved to 8-2 on the year.
