Wisdoms No-No Highlights Doubleheader Sweep, Gauchos Keep Title Hopes Alive

Freshman pitcher Shelby Wisdom's first career no-no highlighted UC Santa Barbara's doubleheader sweep of Cal State Northridge on Friday afternoon at Matador Diamond. The Gauchos posted two shutout wins to stay in the hunt for their first Big West Conference title.

Vela With Two-Hit Shutout In Aggie Split
Justine Vela went the distance in game one, tossing a two-hit shutout in a 5-0 win before the Aggies fell 9-1 in five innings in game two, as the UC Davis softball team split in a doubleheader at Cal State Fullerton on Friday at Anderson Field.

49ers clinch share of Big West softball title
Long Beach State clinched a share of the Big West Conference softball championship on Friday with a doubleheader split with Pacific. The 49ers rallied from a 3-2 loss in game one to beat the Tigers 9-1 in six innings in the second game.

Late Rallies Propel Cal Poly Softball to Doubleheader Split
Freshman shortstop Celina Lafrades (above) cracked her first collegiate home run during the opening game of a Friday afternoon doubleheader against UC Riverside and the Cal Poly softball program scratched out a run with two outs in the bottom of the seventh before scoring four times during the ninth to claim a 6-5 triumph at Bob Janssen Field. The Mustangs, however, dropped the nightcap decision, 6-3.
