Long Beach State Closes In On Commissioner's Cup

Long Beach State is closing in on its second straight Commissioner's Cup and fourth overall as the spring sports season winds down in 2012. The 49ers are averaging 138.0 points in the race. The 49ers have placed in the top three in seven different sports and also have three titles. UC Davis has an outside shot at the title with a 116.7 point-average this year. The Aggies need to win the softball, men's track and field and women's track and field titles to be in contention. The final results of the Commissioner's Cup will be released in late May after the conclusion of the baseball season.
