Dallara, Dome Post Key Victories To Claim Tennis Weekly Honors

Cal Poly junior Andre Dome continued his winning ways and senior Anais Dallara helped Long Beach State defeat Pepperdine for the first time in program history, leading to Big West Men's and Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week accolades, respectively.

Dome Powers Past Conference Opponents

Junior Andre Dome (Arroyo Grande, Calif./Arroyo Grande HS) helped Cal Poly clinch the regular season conference title and No. 1 tournament seed with a 4-0 record in singles and doubles, earning him Big West Men’s Tennis Athlete of the Week accolades.

Dome was key in helping the Mustangs defeat UC Irvine and UC Riverside by identical 5-2 scores on the road that secured an unblemished 5-0 Big West mark.

He toppled UCI’s No. 92 Fabian Matthews in straight sets, 6-0, 6-4 and paired with Matt Fawcett to breeze past Sam Gould and Jacob Jung, 8-2.  Against the Highlanders, Dome held off Felix Macherez by a 6-4, 6-4 count and teamed with Sebastian Bell to blank the UCR duo of Simon Peters and Jimmy Roberts, 8-0.

Dallara Sets Combined Wins Record At Long Beach State

Senior Anais Dallara (Valbonne, France/College De L'egandaude) helped Long Beach State to its first-ever win over Pepperdine to claim the Big West Women’s Tennis Athlete of the Week honor.

The 49ers upset the No. 34 Waves 5-2 on the road on Friday to take a ton of momentum into the upcoming Big West Championship.

Dallara downed No. 60 Khunpak Issara 6-4, 6-3 to give the 49ers an important point at No. 1 singles.  She also teamed with Klaudia Malenovska at No. 2 doubles to provide the clinching point.

Dallara’s two wins gave her 183 combined for her career, which sets the school record.  She already owns the LBSU record for most wins in singles.
