Freshman Kendall Kenyon of the Pacific Tigers brings home her first Big West Women’s Basketball Player of the Week honor this season with a dominating performance last week, going 16-for-21 from the field in her 40 minutes played. The Stockton native did her part in leading the Tigers to a pair of victories, improving to 14-9 on the season and tying for third in conference (7-4).
The six-foot-two center led the Tigers last week in their first contest against UC Riverside posting a double-double with 18 points and 11 boards in just 16 minutes of play. Her 18 points tied her career-high but just two days later she set a new career best. Against UC Irvine, Kenyon scored 22 points while grabbing seven boards, going 9-for-11 from the field in her 24 minutes of action.
Kenyon played 40 minutes over the week, scoring 40 points, making 8-of-9 free throws and shooting 80 percent from the field. She grabbed 18 total rebounds for the Tigers with a pair of blocks as Pacific picked up two home victories.
For the week, Kenyon averaged 20 points and 9 rebounds while shooting 16-of-21 (.762) from the floor.
