Senior Tipesa Moorer grabs her first Big West Women’s Basketball Player of the Week honor this season after leading the 49ers in a pair of victories at home to snap the three-game losing streak for LBSU.  The Harbor City, Calif native is the second 49er to receive honors this season alongside freshman teammate Lauren Spargo on December 19, 2011.

Moorer scored a team-high 14 points in a 46-34 victory over UC Santa Barbara on Friday going 6-for-12 from the field and 2-of-3 from the arc.  This was the first time since 2006 that LBSU held its opponent to under 40 points.

She continued with a 16-point performance two days later against Cal Poly to get the 49ers’ second win at home to end the week.  LBSU defended its home court record, improving to 8-2 at the Walter Pyramid, while seeded fourth in the Big West Conference standings (9-11, 4-3 Big West).

For the week, Moorer scored 30 from the field while averaging 15.0 points, with a 52.2 field goal percentage and 80.0 free throw percentage.
