Long Beach State's Janisa Johnson collected the final Big West Women's Volleyball Player of the Week award after guiding the 49ers to a 3-0 week to close the regular season.
Johnson, playing out of the back-row against Loyola Marymount, had six kills on 12 attempts and made eight digs. The following evening against tournament-bound Central Michigan, Johnson moved back to playing all rotations and led the 49ers with 14 kills on 26 attempts with no errors, hitting .538 with eight digs and five blocks. The Long Beach, Calif., native rounded out the weekend with a double-double against New Mexico, making 13 kills and 16 digs against the Lobos.
For the week, the junior outside hitter averaged nearly three kills and three digs a set over three matches, while hitting .406.
