Larry Anderson posted career-bests in Long Beach State’s opening victory against Idaho to notch the first Big West Men’s Basketball Player of the Week honor of the 2011-12 season.

Anderson tied a career high with seven assists and drained a career-best three three-pointers as the 49ers defeated the Vandals 69-61 on Saturday.

He also scored 16 points with two rebounds and a steal in the win.  Nine of those points came in the second half as Anderson helped the 49ers rally from a two-point halftime deficit.

Anderson made all four of his field goal attempts for the game and sank 5-of-6 from the free throw line in his 27 minutes of play.
