Teams Take Part In Tournament Play This Week

Big West women's water polo teams are sprinkled throughout different tournaments this week, including the Pomona Tournament, Claremont Convergence and Aztec Invitational.
UC Irvine heads to the Pomona Tournament to battle host Pomona-Pitzer and Redlands on Friday before traveling to No. 3 USC for a single match on Saturday.
Long Beach State partakes in four matches at the Claremont Convergence over two days, taking on Cal Lutheran, Whittier, No. 7 Arizona State and Pomona-Pitzer.
At the Aztec Invitational, two Big West schools are represented in Cal State Northridge and Pacific. The Matadors face a power-packed schedule at that event with No. 4 Hawai'i and No. 10 San Jose State awaiting on Saturday, followed by No. 18 UC San Diego and host No. 9 San Diego State on Sunday. The Tigers encounter Wagner, UC San Diego, San Jose State and Cal State Bakersfield on their side of the tournament.
Long Beach State remains the highest ranked team in the Collegiate Water Polo Association poll at No. 11, followed by No. 12 UC Irvine and No. 13 UC Santa Barbara. Rounding out the poll is No. 15 UC Davis, No. 16 Cal State Northridge and No. 20 Pacific.
