Long Beach State's Courtney Jacob collected her second straight Big West Women's Basketball Player of the Week honor after producing back-to-back 20-point performances. This is the third weekly accolade of her career.
In Thursdays win over Pacific, the senior forward/guard poured in a season-best 23 points, including a 4-for-5 outing from three-point range. Along with her impressive point total, Jacob notched seven rebounds, six steals and five assists.
Two days later Jacob registered her third double-double in the last four contests, scoring 20 points and grabbing 12 rebounds against Cal State Fullerton. Adding to her total, the Naples, Fla., native posted three assists and one steal.
For the week, Jacob led the team in points (21.5 ppg), rebounds (9.5 rpg), field goal percentage (54.2), 3-point field goal percentage (50.0), assists (4.0/game) and steals (3.5/game).
