A clutch free throw by Courtney Jacob in the final seconds of the game helped Long Beach State snap a four-game losing skid with a 80-79 victory over UC Irvine, earning her Big West Player of the Week honors.

Jacob opened the week posting her first of two double-doubles on the week, draining 15 points and grabbing 11 rebounds in the 49ers' 77-65 loss to Cal State Fullerton. The forward/guard from Naples, Fla., also dished five assists while committing just one turnover.

In Saturday's contest against UC Irvine, Jacob sank a free throw with 17 seconds on the clock to give the 49ers the win. In LBSU's victory, she notched her second straight double-double with 13 points and 12 rebounds. Jacob added six assists and three blocks to her total.

For the week, Jacob topped the squad in rebounding (11.5 rpg), assists (5.5 apg) and blocks (2.0 bpg), while averaging 14.0 points and shooting .348 from the field.
