Orlando Johnson (Seaside, Calif./Loyola Marymount) averaged 25.0 points and 7.0 rebounds in a pair of conference wins to collect his second Big West Men's Basketball Player of the Week honor of the 2010-11 season.
Johnson recorded his third and fourth consecutive games with 20 points or more as the Gauchos defeated UC Irvine (71-58) and UC Riverside (64-57) at home.
Against the Anteaters, Johnson scored 16 of his 22 points in the second half to lead his team to victory. He added seven rebounds and three assists while shooting 8 of 17 from the field and 5 of 6 from the foul line.
He followed that up with 28 points, seven rebounds and two assists against the Highlanders. Johnson sank 11 of 16 floor shots and hit all but one of his six free throw attempts. The junior was perfect on all seven field goal attempts in the first half.
In the last four games, Johnson is averaging 24.5 points and of the 98 points he has scored, 64 have come in the second half, an average of 16.0 per second half.
Johnson also has tallied double-digit points in 46 straight games for a UCSB record.
