Junior James Nunnally (Stockton, Calif./Weston Ranch HS) sparked UC Santa Barbara to its first win over a ranked opponent since 1993 and he earned Big West Men's Basketball Player of the Week honors for the second time in three weeks.

Nunnally scored 23 points and added seven rebounds to lead the Gauchos to a 68-62 win on the road against No. 22 UNLV on Wednesday.  He made 7 of 12 floor shots, including 3 of 6 from three-point range.  Nunnally also hit six clutch free throws in the second half to help stave off a late Runnin' Rebel surge.

The last UCSB win over a ranked team came against the same Runnin' Rebel program on Feb. 22, 1993.  It was the first win on the road against a ranked foe since January of 1988.

It marked the fourth straight game that Nunnally notched 20 or more points.

Nunnally completed the week with 15 points, three rebounds and three assists as the Gauchos fell 90-64 at San Diego State on Saturday.  He hit two more three-pointers in that game and knocked down all five of his free throw attempts, finishing the two games 11 for 11 from the charity stripe.

For the week, Nunnally averaged 19.0 points and 5.0 rebounds per game, while shooting 47.8% (11 of 23) from the field.

Others nominated:  Shawn Lewis (Cal Poly); T.J. Robinson (Long Beach State); Josh Ritchart (UC Davis); Javon Borum (UC Riverside); Sam Willard (Pacific)
