Pacific's Renan Delsin and Cal State Northridge's Brooke Doane were selected the Big West Men's and Women's Tennis Athletes of the Week after defeating opponents from nationally ranked squads.
Delsin Wins Twice In Singles To Earn Men's Award

Renan Delsin (Santa Cruz da Conceicao, Brazil/Escola Dinamica HS) fared well against opponents from three ranked teams to earn Big West Men's Tennis Athlete of the Week honors.
He posted a 2-1 singles record for the week and also won a match at No. 3 doubles with partner Fernando Ristow. His biggest win was against Hawai'i No. 4 singles player Jeremy Tweedt by a score of 7-5, 7-6. He also defeated Marquette's Jacob Straus 6-3, 6-7, 6-3. The win against Straus helped the Tigers to a 4-3 win over the No. 70 Golden Eagles.

Doane Springs Upset On Ranked UC Irvine Player
Cal State Northridge's
Brooke Doane (Ewa Beach, Hawai'i/Kamehameha HS) recorded perhaps the biggest win of her career when she knocked off the No. 80 singles player in the nation, garnering Big West Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week honors.
Doane, playing No. 1 singles, defeated UC Irvine's Stephanie Hammel in three sets. She overcame a first set defeat to win 6-7, 6-3, 6-0. The Matador team captain was one of two players to win in singles as CSUN lost 4-2 to the No. 64-ranked Anteaters.
She is now 5-1 on the season with her only loss coming to Suzie Matzenauer of Cal Poly.
