Pacific junior Artem Gramma (Krivoj Roj, Ukraine/University of Krivoj Roj) claimed his first career Big West Men's Tennis Athlete of the Week honors after going unbeaten in his first two dual matchups of the season.

Gramma captured the only Tiger point in a 6-1 loss to No. 46 Fresno State, dominating Mirko Zapletal 6-1, 6-0 at the No. 1 singles position.  Gramma, who is ranked No. 108 in singles by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association, also earned a straight sets 6-3, 6-4 win against Nick Lopez of UC Davis in a Big West match.

Gramma also captured a win with partner Ivan Garcia-Castro in No. 2 doubles, toppling the Aggie duo of Tyler Lee and Nic Amaroli, 8-3.  Despite Gramma's two victories on the day, the No. 71 Tigers were upset 4-3 by the Aggies.

Others nominated: Connor Coates (UC Davis); Felix Macherez (UC Riverside)

NOTE: There is no Big West Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week because only three teams competed last week.  Fifty percent or more of the conference's membership must compete in a sport each week for an award to be named.  The next women's award will cover matches from Jan. 25 - Feb. 7.
