No. 3 seed Pacific outlasted eighth-seeded UC Davis and No. 4 seed UC Santa Barbara clamped down on No. 7 Cal State Fullerton to advance to the semifinal round of the Big West Men's Basketball Tournament.  The Tigers will square off against No. 2 seed Long Beach State, while the Gauchos will tangle with No. 1 Cal State Northridge on Friday at the Anaheim Convention Center.

LeDuc's 15 Second Half Points Leads Pacific Past UC Davis

Bryan LeDuc scored 15 of his game-high 17 points in the second half to lead No. 3 Pacific to a 67-60 win over No. 8 UC Davis Thursday night in the Big West Tournament quarterfinals at the Anaheim Convention Center.  The Tigers advance to the semifinals to play No. 2 Long Beach State at 7:30 p.m. Friday night in a game televised by ESPNU.

LeDuc keyed a 13-5 run by Pacific after UC Davis (13-19) rallied from a nine-point second half deficit to tie the game at 46.  LeDuc scored 11 of the Tigers' points in the run and finished the half making 6-of-7 shots to push Pacific (18-11) to the win, after scoring just two points in the first half on 1-of-3 shooting.

Pacific jumped to an 11-point first half lead, its biggest of the game, after canning three straight 3-pointers in a minute and 37 seconds.  UC Davis rallied, outscoring the Tigers 12-2 over the last 6:22 of the first half, including an 8-0 run in the last three minutes to send the teams to the locker room with Pacific leading 29-28.

Sam Willard scored 10 of his 12 points and grabbed all eight of his rebounds in the first half.

The Tigers came out and scored the first eight points of the second half, but allowed the Aggies to get back into the game with an 18-9 run to set up LeDuc's heroics.

Dominic Calegari led UC Davis with 17 points, while Joe Harden added 10 points and eight boards.

Defense Leads UC Santa Barbara Past Cal State Fullerton

Five UC Santa Barbara players scored in double digits and the No. 4 Gauchos held No. 7 Cal State Fullerton to 33.3 percent shooting in a 73-64 win in the Big West Tournament quarterfinals at the Anaheim Convention Center on Thursday night.  UC Santa Barbara will play No. 1 Cal State Northridge at 5:30 p.m. Friday on ESPNU.

Freshman Will Brew made four 3-pointers in the second half to spark the Gauchos (16-14) to the win.  Brew finished with 13 points on 5-of-6 shooting after going scoreless in the first half.  Freshman James Nunnally, the reigning Big West Player of the Week, led the Gauchos with 15 points and three assists, while Chris Devine added 14 points and Paul Roemer and Sam Phippen scored 10 points each.

Senior Josh Akognon led Cal State Fullerton (15-17) with 23 points on 6-of-16 shooting a day after scoring 37 points in a win over UC Riverside.  Freshman Jacques Streeter added 15 points and six assists.  The Titans struggled from the field most of the game shooting just 25 percent in the first half.  Akognon and Streeter combined to make 11-of-25 shots while the rest of the Titans combined to make just 6-of-26 shots.

The Gauchos finished the game making 50 percent (21-of-42) of their shots and out-rebounded the Titans 33-28.
